Combat Stress is the UK’s leading veterans’ mental health charity. They treat a range of mental health conditions including PTSD, depression and anxiety. This charity is a very worthy cause and is dear to my heart. They are holding a charity golf day at The Berkshire in May. It would be fabulous if some members of AOGS could enter teams to help support the excellent work that they do.
Details of the day are below.

Charity Golf Day
Monday 29 May 2017, The Berkshire Golf Club, Ascot, Berkshire
We are pleased to announce that we have been offered an exclusive Charity Golf Day at the prestigious Berkshire Golf Club. Join us and play one of the most highly regarded golf courses on the British Isles, whilst raising vital funds for Combat Stress.
Founded in 1928, The Berkshire Golf Club is home to two Herbert Fowler designed courses. The Berkshire is a traditional Members’ Club which warmly welcomes visiting golfers all year round to enjoy the beauty of its pine and heather lined courses, and to face the subtle challenges of Fowler’s superb traditional design.
A team of four will cost £1,000, and the event will include breakfast and refreshments provided on arrival, 4 ball tournament played on the championship Red Course, a seated 3 course carvery lunch and the chance to go home with superb team and individual prizes.
8.00am – Registration and Breakfast
9.30am – Shotgun start
More than 6,000 veterans are currently registered with us for support with mental health issues. The youngest is just 18 years old, the oldest is 97. Since 2011 we have seen a 71% increase in referrals. As we continue to deal with the legacy of recent conflicts, the need for ongoing support has never been clearer. Events such as this Golf Day provide much needed funds which mean we are in a stronger financial position to meet this increased demand.
We encourage you to book your tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Please contact the Events team on 01372 587148 or email@example.com to book your tickets or for more information.
I do hope you will join us.
